Spring is officially on — water temperatures are climbing through 19–21°C, the jewfish are still lurking in the creek system, and the first kingfish of the season are appearing at the breakwall. Here's what's working this week.

Spring has arrived in the Tilligerry system and the fishing is waking up fast. Water temps are pushing through 19–21°C and the estuary is showing the signs — bait schools are thickening in the creek channels and the jewfish are still present before they scatter to spawn.
The bay is manageable this week with a light SE swell and variable winds. Experienced boat fishers can work the open water, but the Tilligerry system is producing better numbers right now, especially on the tide changes morning and evening.
Mulloway are your best bet through the week — target the deep holes in the main Tilligerry channel and along the channel edge running north from the Lemon Tree Passage ramp. ZMan SwimmerZ in White Pearl or Sexy Mullet fished slow on a 3/8oz TT HeadlockZ HD jighead on the run-out tide just after dark. Spring's first warm nights have them moving earlier than mid-winter.
Kingfish are beginning to show at the Nelson Bay Breakwall — sunrise sessions with stick baits are your best crack. Nothing huge yet but the run is building as water temps climb toward 21°C through October.
Bream are active around the rock walls through Tilligerry on the run-in tide — small soft plastics or yabbies fished tight to structure first light, before the boat traffic starts.
